NATIONAL DAY ROUND UP
September 16, 2020
Although 10th September was different this year, the spirit of National Day was not diminished – we just celebrated it another way but with the same fervour and dedication as we have always done. Here are a few photographs of our National Day 2020!
GBC broadcast dance, music and songs and the National Day address from the Chief Minister. We also received messages from the three First Ministers from the Great Britain Family and the Prime Minister himself. Other politicians also sent their National Day messages as did many Gibraltarians around the world.
His Excellency the Governor and the Chief Minister strolled in town to greet and chat with those persons who were carefully celebrating there.
Gibraltar flags flew from the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Ministry in London, (Dominic Rabb, Secretary of State sent his good wishes) and in Port Stanley in the Falklands. Congressman George Holding, from North Carolina District 2, sent his good wishes and added “Gibraltar is a valuable ally of the United States -- and today we honor their chosen status and commemorate their right of self determination.”
There was a lunch at the Gibraltar House in London where they also watched the political rally, and sent their good wishes to the Rock – Sir Bob Neil, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group and Andrew Rosindell are pictured.
There were also the traditional parties in our Elderly Care Homes; and HMS Pursuer flew the Gibraltar flag while on patrol!
We hope you all had a great National Day and if there are any photographs which you would like to share, just send them to us and we will do our utmost to publish them!
