There is no doubt that Government is redoubling its effort to contain what, in other countries, has been called Covid 19’s second wave. We do not believe that in Gibraltar we can quite go that far. However, without statistics at hand there seems to be a slight increase in contagion since we unlocked Gibraltar. Nevertheless, this still appears to be within manageable levels.
However, the containment efforts deployed by the Government is praiseworthy in the knowledge that with an open frontier, through which people commute to and fro, and a hinterland where the pandemic is ever increasing and the authorities are having difficulties to contain, a city the size of Gibraltar could easily be ravaged and devastated.
The Government, therefore, deserves the support of this community for its struggle to keep us safe.
